Lesson 1
Professional credibility and useful contributions
Social selling means using professional networks to build relationships and trust with the people you want to help. It is not mass messaging. Before anyone replies to you, they will usually look at your profile, so start there.
A credible profile explains who you help and how, in plain language, rather than listing your job titles. Use a clear, recent photo, describe the problems you work on, and include a few concrete examples of the kind of work you do, without naming clients who have not agreed to it.
Contributions build credibility over time. Share something useful a few times a month: a short lesson from a project, a practical checklist, or a thoughtful comment on an industry article. Add your own view rather than just reposting. Comments on other people's posts are often more effective than posts of your own, because they start conversations.
Be consistent and honest. Do not exaggerate results, buy followers or post about customers without permission. People notice, and trust lost online is hard to rebuild.
